Assessment of safety and effectiveness of desoximetasone emollient cream 0.25% in comparison to mometasone cream 0.1% in Indian patients with eczema

Background: Topical corticosteroids have become indispensable in the treatment of eczema. The current study was conducted to assess safety and effectiveness Desoximetasone emollient cream 0.25% (DESO) compared Mometasone 0.1% (MOM) patients with eczema.Methods: This a prospective, observational, open label, multicentre post marketing at real-life scenario. Newly diagnosed, naïve clinical diagnosis eczema were enrolled. All received either DESO or MOM for 3 weeks. Primary end point proportion developing adverse events. Secondary endpoints comprised change visual analog scale perception improvement intensity pruritus day 14 21 from baseline, area severity index (EASI) score 0 21.Results: 45 group 43 completed study. well tolerated. Severity significantly reduced 54.59% 45.60% on (p=0.023). 69.16% as 66.97 % (p=NS). There statistically significant reduction (p<0.001) EASI baseline within groups, but without any difference between groups.Conclusions: tolerated earlier furoate 1% cream.
